Dr Adam Nulty

Adam, the “Digital Dentist”, is a highly experienced clinician with a special interest in

Restorative & Aesthetic Dentistry, Digital Dentistry and Implantology.

In 2013 he completed a Master of Science degree in Restorative and Aesthetic dentistry

from the University Of Manchester, achieving a Distinction and is currently researching

guided implantology in a PhD at Leeds University

Dr Chris Lefkaditis


Chris Lefkaditis is the principal of a private practice in Norwich. 

He qualified as a BSC Dental scientist in 1989. He later joined dental school and graduated as a dental surgeon with honours in 1995 from the University of Pretoria. 

His vast experience in digital dentistry includes Cadcam dentistry and computer guided implantology give him an unparalleled CAD CAM Materials knowledge.

Having furthered his education in advanced implant dentistry and functional occlusion, he has taken on the role of mentoring dentists with an interest in implant dentistry. 

Dr Patrik Zachrisson


Dental surgeon (Karolinska Institute Sweden 1996), CertDentImp, FICOI

Patrik is a partner of The Wensleydale Dental Practice and the Wensleydale Dental laboratory. He provides general dental care for a broad patient base, focusing mainly on digital dentistry, Invisalign (platinum provider), implantology, restorative and preventive dentistry. He does all crown and bridge work using Cerec Omnicam, mostly made on site in his own laboratory.

He is currently working with Nimrodental on new orthodontic materials and ways of creating minimal retainers with digital scans.

Digital dentistry course (Level 7)

Be part of The UK’s FIRST Digital Dentistry Course.

With the facilities and educational distinction available at the City Of London Dental School, the collaboration with the Digital Dental Academy will provide a world first in 21st Century Digital Dental teaching enabling students to provide more predictable care and communicate with patients better in a familiar digital landscape.

Summary of Module Content

- To lead to a comprehensive knowledge of Digital Dentistry

- Applied Science behind the hardware and software taught in an unbiased and research based format.

- Workflows to include in every day dentistry such as CAD design, CAM Material knoweledge, Milling and Finishing of prosthetics.

- 3D printing devices, software and materials.

- CBCT and Guided Surgery knowledge.

The first part is a Postgraduate Diploma.

You will then have the option of progressing to Diploma to a full Level 7 MClinDent in Digital Restorative Dentistry with a research proposal of your choice.

Next Cohort Start Date: January 2019

The programme is multi-modular, and all modules have to be completed to progress through the programme. Students who successfully complete the first stage will have completed a Postgraduate Certificate. At the end of stage two students will have completed a Postgraduate Diploma. At the end of the third stage, students will be awarded an MClinDent (DigRestDent). The programme is taught by leading professionals in the field of Digital Restorative Dentistry. Tutors and recognised experts will give lectures, demonstrations and hands on support. Students present and treat a minimum of five cases using digital technology. Students attend seminars and present models and records of actual cases they intend to treat under supervision or independently.

Masters in Digital Restorative Dentistry

Additional Information

After the completion of the PGCert and Diploma, students will have the option to  progress their learning towards a full MClinDent in Digital Restorative Dentistry.

Students will complete a 60 credit Research Module that will give students the areas of knowledge which are required during the third part of the programme and provides the tools needed for the professional project. This is a comprehensive module covering clinical statistics, evidence based practice, critical appraisal, measurement and research design, and explores their specific application in dental research and treatment. It also enables students to identify and access the information they need in the dental literature, reading it from a critical viewpoint, and applying rules and measurements to assess the validity of methodology and conclusions.

On completion of this module students will have the necessary skills to implement and write up a research dissertation of up to 15,000 words. 

The MClinDent in Digital Restorative Dentistry is through the City Of London Dental School.


Course Overview

Aims & Objectives of the course

The Digital Dental Academy has grown into one of the worlds largest community of digital dentistry dedicated to the professions of dentists, technicians and auxillaries, offering courses on a range of digital dentistry subjects, and it is pleased to partner with the City of London Dental School to deliver the UK’s first Digital Dentistry Masters Degree.

The Masters programme is aimed at the higher educational needs of General Dental Practitioners who intend to introduce digital dentistry as a treatment modality into their practices or to expand on existing knowledge and skills. It also instils the core skills essential for the professional practice of dentistry using new technologies and a commitment to lifelong learning.

The objective is to provide dental surgeons with the core knowledge and clinical skills essential for the delivery of competent, high quality dental care in accordance with GDC recognised guidelines. Additionally, it is to promote an understanding of the different requirements essential to the provision of ethical, predictable and evidence based preventative, orthodontic, restorative and cosmetic dentistry.

Programme Aims

The overall aim is to deliver sound teaching in the theory and safe practice of modern dentistry using cutting edge tools such as intra oral scanners, 3D Printers, Milling machines and Software aids. It aims to produce competent and reflective practitioners as well as encouraging opportunities for research and further postgraduate development. The programme aims are to:

  • Provide unbiased teaching in the theory and practice of dentistry using digital tools and technologies.
  • Create opportunities for personal and professional development
  • Contribute to the research base of digital dentistry and to encourage research amongst practitioners
  • Promote digital dentistry as a safe and practical method of treating patients
  • Produce safe, competent and reflective practitioners
  • Appraise levels of competency.

Objectives of the Programme

By the end of the programme, successful students will have acquired the knowledge, skills and experience to confidently:

  • Deliver safe, predictable and competent dental treatment using digital technologies.
  • Understand their role and responsibilities in the provision of dental treatment to their patients using these tools, together with their relationships to other colleagues and the dental care team.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with other professionals in the management of complex cases requiring an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Interpret research findings and their implications for dental treatment using digital dental software and hardware.
  • Evaluate various treatment options, demonstrate proficiency in applying new cutting edge software and hardware techniques and reflect on all aspects relating to practice management, synthesising information gained from a wide variety of sources in order to develop an optimal and realistic treatment plan.
  • Understand the major legal, ethical and social implications of treatment using these technologies.

Course Dates & Structure

Monthly Lectures

One evening a month delegates will take part in an interactive online lecture from 7pm to 830pm. These will aid in the learning of each module and will be provided by some of the worlds leading digital experts.

Face to Face Hands On Learning

Each Postgraduate Certificate and Diploma will have two residentials. These residentials will be held at various manufacturers facilities where a range of hands on equipment will be provided. Each residential will last 4 days. The first two will take place in January and May 2019. These face to face learning experiences will give delegates the personal face to face teaching required.


Students are assessed by a variety of means appropriate to the programme module. These may include written assignments, projects, oral presentation and practical/clinical assessment. The aim is to build students’ knowledge and confidence so that they may progress through the programme and be ready for final assessment.


Students will be given a recommended reading list with applicable literature for each given topic as well as essential reading to compliment each module.


As you progress through your learning you will have an in depth support network with fellow students as well as worldwide mentors.


Should you choose to progress the learning towards a full MClinDent in Digital Restorative Dentistry you will be supported by the faculty in your chosen research area to provide a lasting impact in Digital Dentistry.
